Tooth Whitening (Bleaching) is one of the most requested
and non-invasive cosmetic treatments available in cosmetic
dentistry. Tooth whitening is used to remove stains and
improve the overall appearance of your teeth.
Tooth whitening is a bleaching process in which a peroxide
material is placed on the teeth. Our teeth, just like our hair and
nails, have moisture in them. The peroxide gel removes the
moisture from the teeth, in effect gently dehydrating the teeth,
and removing the stain. The teeth then rehydrate naturally with
your own saliva in a day or two, and you are left with a whiter,
brighter, more youthful smile!
We offer three different whitening options in our office.
The first option is the Opalescence BOOST in-office one hour
power bleaching. We also offer ZOOM! which is the same
system used on ABC’s Extreme Makeover. Power bleaching is
safe, effective and fast, very fast! In under an hour your teeth
can change up to 8 shades lighter. This system is ideal if you
are looking for immediate results.
The procedure is simple. It starts with a short preparation to
cover the lips and gums, leaving only teeth exposed. Then we
apply the BOOST Whitening Gel at 15 minute intervals, four
times. The gel works to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking
up stains and discoloration. Aftercare products are included to
keep your teeth looking bright.

The second option is an at-home tray bleaching system. You
come into our office and we take impressions of your teeth.
From those impressions we create custom made trays that fit
only your teeth. They will fit much more comfortably than the
store bought boil and bite trays. You then place the whitening
gel in the trays and wear them 1-2 hours a day. You will do this
for about 10-14 days or until you have reached your desired
shade. You will need to touch up every now and then,
depending on how easily your teeth stain.

are pre-loaded whitening trays. This is recommended for entry-
level whitening patients or as an alternative to over-the-counter
whitening products. TRESWHITE Supreme is a perfect follow-
up to in-office whitening.
